Ingeborg Gillebo
Mezzo-Soprano

Ingeborg GilleboThe young mezzo-soprano Ingeborg Gillebo was born and raised in Norway. She has a bachelor degree in classical singing from The Norwegian Academy of Music, and in the summer of 2009 she graduated from the Opera Academy in Copenhagen where she studied with Professor Susanna Eken.

During her studies she sang roles such as Idamante in Idomeneo, Dorabella in Così fan tutte, Romeo in I Capuleti e i Montecchi, Der Komponist in Ariadne auf Naxos, Octavian in Der Rosenkavalier, the title role in Carmen and Marie in The Bartered Bride.

Since then, Ms. Gillebo has sung concerts with The Royal Danish Music Conservatory Symphony orchestra, with the conductors Tobias Ringborg and Christian Badea at the Royal Danish Opera, The Royal Theatre and at the Tivoli Concert Hall in Copenhagen. She participated in the Academie Européenne de musique 2010 at Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, as well as making her her debut at the Royal Danish Opera as Margret in Wozzeck with director Keith Warner and conductor Michael Boder. She also had significant success as Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Norwegian National Opera in Thaddeus Strassberger's production conducted by Jonathan Darlington.

Most recently, Ms. Gillebo sang Zélis in Liszt's Don Sanche with the conductor Laurent Pillot in London as well as in Amsterdam in the connection with European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage Award Ceremony (awarded to Plácido Domingo). This past summer she was one of the nine finalists in the Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition in Vienna and in August she was awarded the 2nd prize in the Queen Sonja International Singing Competition. In August 2011 she performed the role of Solveig in Grieg's Peer Gynt at the Peer Gynt Festival (one of Norway's most established and prestigious festivals).

Upcoming engagements include Rosina in Il Baribiere di Siviglia, Romeo in I Capuleti e i Montecchi and Costanza in Haydn's L'Isola Disabitata at the Norwegian National Opera; 2nd Lady in Die Zauberflöte with Stavanger Symphony Orchestra and the conductor Fabio Biondi; Anitra in Grieg's Peer Gynt with the NDR Symphony Orchestra and conductor Eivind Gullberg Jensen; and Mozart's Requiem with Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Stefan Parkman. She will also record as well as sing concerts of Mozart's Requiem in Ambronay with the conductor Leonardo Garcia Alarcon.
